History
The area that makes up the Glenmoor subdivision was originally part of the village of Barrington Hills.Barrington Hills requires a minimum lot size of 5 acres, so in order to allow the 'high density housing' that is now Glenmoor, the developer had to arrange for annexation by the village of Algonquin. This was allowed under the condition that the houses were to be subject to strict convenants, so the view to Barrington Hills residents would remain relatively pleasant. As a result, changes to the covenants must be approved by us, Algonquin and Barrington Hills. The northern and eastern lots of the Glenmoor subdivision border directly on Barrington Hills.
The original developer was Dartmoor Construction, who started development in 1987.
In the early 1990's, Dartmoor sold the remaining lots to Opfer & Stuckman, who developed the remainder of the lots, although some lots were developed by individual developers.
